Holy Cross

More than a building

Holy Cross Catholic Church first began as one of the 21 California missions: La Exaltacion de la Santa Cruz, giving its name to the city and county. We continue to grow, with a mission for the 21st century. Holy Cross reaches out to its own, its youth and pre-school children, its elderly; and to people and communities sometimes alienated from the Church in various ways.

Holy Cross, indeed, is about more than just buildings. Above all else, Holy Cross means family, community, inclusion, and service to others.

We are happy to have people from all around the world learning about our mission -- the church in action today, as well as in history. We hope you enjoy visiting Holy Cross Catholic Church!

Welcome!

Sacramental Preparation As Catholics, we live out our faith life in a most special way through the seven Sacraments of the Church. The Sacraments of Initiation are Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. The Sacraments of Service are Marriage and Holy Orders. The Sacraments of Healing are Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick. Faith Formation For faith to be fully alive, it needs opportunities to grow. Our Faith Development ministries provide support and information for people at any age or point in their faith journeys to encourage their spiritual growth. For more information, click here.

LiturgyHoly Cross offers a breadth of minsitries that encourages the full, active, and conscious participation of all joining in prayer. The liturgical ministries develop ways to enhance prayer at Mass and in other celebrations throughout the Church year. For more information, click here.

Outreach Holy Cross has a long and rich tradition of caring for people when they are in need. Our Outreach Ministry seeks to attend to a wide variety of needs and situations. In personal ways, we try to bring God's love to all, especially those undergoing any type of difficulty; and particularly those who might feel forgotten, outcast or alienated.
