Holy Cross SchoolHoly Cross School is a ministry of Holy Cross Parish. We seek to enrich our students’ lives by providing them a vibrant and comprehensive experience of living faith and a strong and challenging academic curriculum. Relying on the prayers of all our parishioners, Holy Cross School is grateful to minister to children and families in the name of the parish. Preschool through Grade Eight: Middle SchoolThe Holy Cross Middle School Youth Group meets on Thursday evenings, mid-September through mid-May, from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. in the Meeting Room under the Parish Hall. Entrance is through the gate by the gym. Our group is open to middle school students (grades 6-8) who want to meet other Christians their age, to learn more about our shared Catholic faith and the Catholic Church, and to better the understanding of ourselves and the GOD who cares for us. |
Youth MinistryThe High School Group meets on Sunday nights from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. for a combination of fun, faith-sharing, education, prayer and service activities. In order to form a stronger teen community at Holy Cross, all high school teens will meet at the same time. A monthly bulletin with a calendar of events is published and available on the Sunday preceding the beginning of each month in the back of the Church. We also have a space to announce youth related activities in the weekly parish bulletin (Youth Ministry Corner) and in the kiosk outside of the Church. Please see the youth ministry website for more details. For more information about Youth Ministry at Holy Cross, please contact Elizabeth Borges Yee in the Youth Ministry Office, 459-7540. . Adult EducationFaith formation is a lifelong process. It does not end with reception of sacraments; rather, the sacraments are the beginning and the foundation of our faith. Seasonal Bible Study groups explore the wisdom and applications of sacred Scripture. Book study groups delve into special texts to enhance our faith understanding. Past adult education experiences have featured distinguished speakers covering a wide range of topics, from world religions to the changes of the Second Vatican Council to contemporary justice and family issues. We also have examined some particularly challenging areas in our "Catholics With Questions" and "Take A Second Look" sessions, for people who have been away from the Church for whatever reason or who might have difficult questions or situations that need to be addressed. In all these, everyone grows immensely and discovers our God in new ways. For more information please call 423-4182.

Rite of Christian Initiation -- Becoming CatholicA wonderful journey of faith awaits those adults thinking of becoming Catholic. It is also available for adults who were baptized Catholic but never received the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation. Our team of presenters and companions journey with those inquiring into the Catholic faith, who then might choose to participate in the Rites of Christian Initiation. This process covers many months and a wealth of topics and spiritual experiences, reaching its high point at the Easter Vigil Mass, when adults are received into the Catholic Church and celebrate the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation, as they have requested and prepared. It is a joyous experience for all involved! |

Religious Education
Welcome!
For faith to be fully alive, it needs opportunities to grow. Our Faith Development ministries provide support and information for people at any age or point in their faith journeys. Parish resources are here to support the individuals and their companions (whether parents, sponsors, or friends), so that they can be encouraged in their spiritual growth.
